What a wonderful surprise!!

You are looking at an award winning photographer!

I am so thrilled to announce this wonderful news!!

Last June I was invited to submit my work to the RISE awards in Australia. This was my first competition I have ever entered. What I liked about this one is that the judges offer critiquing to your work. So not only is it a competition, I like to think of it as a "report card" to my work and to see where I sit on the scope of photographers. Generally there are photography competitions happening anywhere and when you look, it's not hard to find them. However when you're invited, I think it's an even greater privilege to take part in the event.

Well, I'm happy to announce I was awarded 3 bronze medals!!!

Going into the competition for the very first time, I didn't know what to expect. I went into it for fun and to see where I would place. I'd like to add that it is a pride swallowing effort to throw your images to the world to see what the critics have to say. In return, I am very happy to see how my work has placed and this confirms that the efforts I am putting into my artwork are making the progress I was hoping for from the perspectives of the judges who are professional photographers themselves.

So what do you do now?

My plan is to keep moving forward and finding new ways to bring out the best in my photography skills. Perhaps it means hitting the books again, or maybe a workshop to help narrow down the grey areas of my photography. As long as I am consistently making the effort to improving my skills and making the process more enjoyable for my clients. Big goals but in small easy steps. :)
